( News Correspondent) – The Alibag Short Film Festival, organized as a platform for budding artists and technicians, will be held this year on October 11. This marks the seventh year of the festival.
The festival will be inaugurated on October 11 at 10:00 AM in the auditorium of the Balasaheb Thackeray Art Gallery near Sarasbaug. More than a hundred short films from various countries will be screened between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Festival Director Yogesh Baraskar stated that the event is open to the public free of charge.
Prizes will be awarded to winners across various categories by veteran writer and music critic Subhashchandra Jadhav. The award distribution ceremony will take place at 5:00 PM on the same day. Awards will be presented in 32 categories—including Best Short Film, Best Director, and Best Actor—based on the films screened at the festival. Producers and directors of the showcased films will receive certificates of appreciation. Directors, producers, and technicians associated with the screened films will participate in the event, which will also feature interactive sessions and discussions with these artists and technicians.
