Pimpri, 6th March 2024 :- To promote sustainability and healthier living, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is set to launch its Cycle2Work Thursdays initiative on March 7, 2024. This groundbreaking initiative has appealed to all employees to pedal their way to the office every Thursday, promoting a greener environment and fostering a culture of fitness.
PCMC Commissioner Shri Shekhar Singh will personally be commuting via bicycle every Thursday in order to make this campaign a success. His commitment to leading by example underscores the importance of this initiative in reducing emissions and promoting well-being.
Commissioner Singh said, “I am thrilled to be part of this initiative, which not only aligns with our commitment to sustainability but also promotes a healthier lifestyle. By cycling to work, we can make a tangible impact on our environment while also improving fitness levels. This campaign is not a gimmick, and we would appeal to citizens and stakeholders to start at their level.”
The Cycle2Work Thursdays initiative will kick off at 9:45 AM outside the PCMC Building, where participants are encouraged to gather for a group photo. This initiative represents a collective effort towards creating a greener and healthier future for all.
